The Pen

The scribblings of Brion Riborn... A singer and songwriter from the Great Lakes State, Brion Riborn has been writing songs and poetry for much of his life. Like the frigid Michigan winters, his art doesn't shy away from the cold and desolate places that we often stumble into in our separate journeys on this planet. Ah, but winters end, and spring is just beneath the surface with a promise of renewal. Riborn makes this apparent throughout his work, often using the dark moments to highlight the lone glimmer of hope. If you like his writing, you'll likely really enjoy his music as he openly admits to being a much better songwriter than author or poet. You can find his music for free download at: www.wonderisgone.com and it is also available on iTunes and Amazon.com Info, Inspiration and Insight into the new album @ www.pleasantlydisappointed.com

  • The Truest Sentence (four submissions)

These are four adaptations/alterations of my previous poetry/prose. I have placed them together in this post for ‘The Truest Sentence’ challenge. I’m make no claim that they are the most wonderfully crafted sentences, or even decent sentences, but I can assure you this: they are true.

    (1) The paradox of power in being human is that we must unplug to recharge.

    (2) This thorn of crowns will pierce me through if what I’m worth is what I do.

    (3) He talked as if he ruled the world and drank as if the world ruled him.

    (4) The ‘Pessimist’s Guide To Hope’ has only one step: pray that you are wrong.
